I spoke with Ed this morning and Brent is stable and still in very critical condition. He wants everyone to know that the family appreciates all your support and prayers. He also wants you to know that this is going to be like running a marathon. Brent is very serious and this is going to take time.

Although they have somewhat decreased his medication that is keeping him in a coma, there will be expected bumps in the road that will need to be addressed. (That's that putting out of fires thing!) Brent needs your prayers and the family thanks you from the bottom of their hearts for everything!

******UPDATE********SATURDAY MORNING*********

Ed has asked my to tell you the following update. The doctors have decided to start to wean Brent off of the medicines that have kept him in the induced coma. This is a serious time as Brent may begin to show the symptoms of his brain injury, if any. More than any other time, we need your prayers!!!!! The next few days will most likely be a series of "putting out fires." Please be patient with the updates and know that everyone is working so hard for Brent but none more harder than Brent himself. He is a fighter! The family thanks you for EVERYTHING!!! They can't get through this without you. They send their love!

Spoke with Ed and Brent remains the same. He is still in critical condition but stable. They appreciate the prayers and everything you guys are doing for Brent and their family! **********UPDATE*********FRIDAY NIGHT************

I am writing this on my own tonight. I have not heard from Ed tonight but have talked with a family member. Today was a tough day for the family. The family is tired, worried and are working on little sleep now for almost a week. Brent is still critical and stable. The nurses and doctors have been amazing and they are working so hard for Brent. They need our prayers for Brent and they need us to be strong for them. They need to feel our positive, loving thoughts. They all thank you for everything you guys are doing.......the prayers.............­meals........donation­s.........cards......­....posters.......gre­en ribbons.....pictures­.....chanting "Brent" at the games........t-shirt­s..........and your love for their son!

*****UPDATE******WEDNESDAY AT 6:00 PM

Ed called me and said the Brent was hanging in there and remains stable. The doctors are working hard to keep Brent on the path to healing and recovery. This takes time. The good news is that he has not gotten worse and they are so thankful for that! Everything is on track and Brent is exactly where he should be in this process. Once again, they ask for continued prayers and good thoughts for their son. Thank you- thank you!

******UPDATE******CT SCAN RESULTS*******TUESDAY 4:00PM

Just spoke to Keith (brother and my future son-in-law) and he said the doctors gave them the results of the CT Scan. The results showed the same results (no change) as when Brent was admitted on Saturday which is good news. There are several marked bruises on the brain. There is no change in his condition which is also good. His numbers are good and steady. They expected the maximum amount of swelling to happen today but Brent is a fighter and he remains stable. He is still critical and anything can change at any time but no news is good news at this time. Keith was sure to pass along his appreciation for all your prayers and well wishes for his brother!

Spoke with Keith and Brent remained stable through the night. No change which is good news! The family thanks you so much for all your prayers and notes. They go on this site every day and read what you have written and it gives them strength. Please keep it up!

Thank you also to everyone for wearing "green" for Brent at school and athletic events. It is very touching to the family.

I should have some idea of a food schedule later today so check back.

Please support Brent by getting your car washed and attending the bake sale on February 20th at El Toro High School.

Meal Sign Ups Starting Soon..........help is requested

The family is in need of some meals to be taken to Mission Hospital for lunches and dinners. Sign ups will be posted tomorrow. If you can help out the family check back and sign up.

Thank you for all the donations of snacks and sweets but they have so much that they are asking us to stop those types of food for now.

Spoke to the family this morning and we will get a better update later this morning. I can tell you that the family sat down last night and went on this web site and read every single message you were so kind enough to post. They could feel your support and love and it means so much. They thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your continued prayers.

Brent is still critical and the brain still has swelling which they are monitoring. He is having a CT scan this morning and should know the results within the next few hours. He is still in an endued coma so his brain can heal.

There are no visitors allowed especially in the pediatric ICU where Brent is. The hospital has very strict rules for the health of all their patients. Thank you for your understanding.

Just got this information from Ed (dad)............"Br­ent had a Cat Scan early am but we have not spoken to the neurologist yet and his condition remains critical but stable. His lungs have certainly improved. He will remain in a medically induced coma while his brain heals. Our Family thanks all of you so very much for your thoughts and prayers. Love the Sirignano Family"

Spoke to Ed (dad) and he wanted to let everyone that your prayers are appreciated. Signs and posters are decorating the walls of his room. Brent was stable through the night. His lungs, this morning, are BETTER which is good news. They have placed a feeding tube so he can get nutrition. All his other organs are working good. However, he wants everyone to know that Brent is in "survival mode" and the next 72 hours is critical. Please keep praying for Brent.

Brent made it through the night and as expected his brain is starting to swell a little. The doctors anticipated this. They are taking excellent care of him at Mission Hospital. Mingie and Ed (his mom and dad) stayed at the hospital last night in a room right next door to the ICU.
