UPDATE.......3/18.......Very good news about Brent

Hello everyone

Hope this message finds ALL of you and yours doing well! We are all doing better this week. Brent remains in the PICU at CHOC in Mission hospital and is in VERY GOOD HANDS. His nurses Love him and have become very fond of "THEIR BOY BRENT" The neurosurgeon ( I hope I spelled that right) told us that we could expect to see improvement following the surgery of the bone flap last Monday. He was right on!! Brent's therapy is going a little better each day. Brent is more active now and seems very motivated to overcome his injuries. Brent is unable to speak to us, but today during speech therapy Brent tasted some ice cream for the first time and then licked his lips. He is also swallowing better during his speech therapy. These accomplishments are very positive steps, on the road to eating normally again.

He holds his head up better each day and yesterday and today he was able to stand up for a moment next to his bed, with assistance from his Family and the physical therapists. Each day this week Brent has shown our Family and his amazing and Loving nurses and staff at Mission that he is slowly progressing. We can hardly wait for tomorrow to see what Brent will do next. As you can imagine, we are very HAPPY with his efforts to do well and his recent progress!! Thank you to God, for giving Brent the strength to improve.

If you don't mind, next time you pray for Brent please pray for him to be able to eat normally soon and for his right arm and hand, He has only moved his right arm and right hand a couple of times since the accident. He only started moving his right leg last weekend and we will be praying that his right arm and hand will follow.

Although we have not been able to speak to a lot of you, please know that we LOVE ALL OF YOU for EVERYTHING you have done and are still doing to support Brent and our Family. We are TRULY BLESSED to have such caring and Loving people in our lives. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Good night and sweet dreams!

Love

Ed and Mingie and Family
